Meet Korey

Korey is a people-first organizer.  After the 2016 election, Korey decided to get out of his house to figure out he could make a difference in his community.  Korey began to learn how to organize.  He jumped head first into civic engagement, where he worked with local nonprofits to get more citizens registered to vote.  He helped citizens raise their voices and get their messages heard at the ballot box.  In 2018, he fought to have propositions 1, 2, and 3 passed. These were issues we could all agree on, decriminalizing cannabis, ending gerrymandering, and making voting more accessible to all. Korey wants to bring a respect for all human life, and forward-thinking, common sense solutions to Taylor's City Council. When Taylor residents come together, we create a better city for all.

Korey earned his bachelor degree in History with a minor in Political Science at the University of Michigan Dearborn.  He is currently working towards earning his Master’s of Science in Historic Preservation at Eastern Michigan University.

Taylor is his home. His family has lived here for generations.  He is a product of St. Alfred’s Catholic School.  Korey is a member of the Taylor Historic Commission. He has a bold vision for educational enrichment at Heritage Park. and quality of life improvements for the other recreation spaces in the city. Korey envisions a more connected Taylor, with more sidewalks, sheltered bus stops, and public transportation that can take Taylor Residents to all the key points of interest in the city. He wants to fight back against the "Taylor-tucky" moniker some use for our city, as we have a great city!  We can invest in Taylor's future by building up our infrastructure, advocating for our workers, and attracting good paying jobs to the Taylor.  He knows he cannot do it alone, so he needs our help.  Together, Taylor residents can do anything if we put in the hard work and effort to do so!

WHY HE IS RUNNING >

There is so much potential in the city of Taylor!  We have the resources and people needed in order to create a better Taylor for everyone.  Korey sees this and wants to be one of the voices in our City Hall advocating for a better quality of life for all residents.  Bold vision, fiscal responsibility, community engagement, and transparency are the core pillars of this campaign, and Korey knows he needs your help to make these focuses a reality.
